Letting the grass grow

The fields at Chalk Meadows are grass and have provided grazing for sheep for some time. We decided in March that we would let the grass grow and we’ve really enjoyed watching the outlook change through the seasons.

The long grass has become beautiful, particularly in early evening with the sun setting and the array of colours that imbue it.

The privacy of the long grass has provided a habitat for a young deer family who we have loved watching from a distance. The fawn has used our fields as a nursery while mum goes off for the day.
